February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Each year, approximately 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner. In addition, a survey of 500 teen and young adults showed that 57% percent waited six months or more before seeking any help while 40% hadn’t talked to anyone about abusive behavior in their relationship.
Wake up with us on February 25th to learn the warning signs of dating violence and how to talk to the teens in your life about this pervasive issue and prepare them for healthy relationships from Susannah Thorngate-Rein, The Women’s Center’s Violence Prevention Advocate.
The virtual program will begin promptly at 7:45am, with a live presentation and time for questions from attendees. This event is free to attend and registration is required. https://twcwaukesha.org/event/february-sunrise-speaker-seriesDate and Time
